Fashion Revolution Week- what this means for handmade fashion

On April 24 2013, the Rana Plaza complex in Dhaka, Bangladesh, collapsed killing 1134 people. This catastrophic event sparked the creation of Fashion Revolution, an organisation focused on bringing together all facets of fashion to create a more harmonious and sustainable fashion industry.  Striving for transparency in the clothing industry, Fashion Revolution wants you to ask labels ‘Who made my clothes?’

Small fashion labels like Alice Nightingale aim to create complete transparency in their chain of supply, from designing, sourcing fabric and manufacture to the hands of the customer. Our items are made by a team who wants you to have the best possible experience with your products, by means of unique designs and quality craftsmanship, so you don’t have to question the ethical nature or production of your clothes.

You can get involved by checking out the Fashion Revolution website and upcoming events: http://fashionrevolution.org/country/australia/
