A Nightingale On Ice!

Yesterday we took our upcoming winter range 'The Librarian' out for an ice skate with Moustache Magazine! Let it be known that hilarity ensued.

Now you may have to wait a few months to see the finished product, but here's a little preview of our brave model Faith in action!

Thanks to the lovely team from Moustache Magazine and the incredibly helpful staff of Iceworld for letting us walk on the ice...in heels.

Just a few weeks to go till 'The Librarian' is released!

We've been busy!

The team here at Alice Nightingale have been a little silent over the past few months, with good reason too! The Librarian, our new winter collection is coming together as we speak!

Launching at the start of March throughout Australia & New Zealand, it's a lovely mix of velvet's, melton wool's, soft cottons and silky sateen's. We can't wait to show it off!

As the month goes on we'll be posting photos from various shoots on our facebook page and instagram feed so you can catch up on all the backstage action!

Sunshine Tour!

The wonderful OPSM Sunshine Tour touched down at Robina Town Centre yesterday with brilliant results!

I was invited along to see the newest additions to OSPM stores and have a peek at Versace’s new line. As a pale skinned, indoors type I was pleasantly surprised at just how much good a trip to an ice cream van and a little bit of sunshine can do!

It was such a great day out and I’m so impressed by the new look Versace range. Each pair has an elegance that compliments every outfit! Those of us with a rounder face can rejoice in their lovely cat-eyed additions that have the perfect amount of angular features to even out the look. Here’s a peek at their range-

First up, my personal Favourite; which I’m dubbing the ‘Cat Eye’ (seen here on local Cathy Wren). This is the smallest style of the range, perfect feminine and rather classy. I matched this with the Poppy dress from my upcoming summer 2012 range and I can just picture a cocktail with friends finishing off this look!

The amazingly named Lannie Valentine from Brisbane has such a fresh look in this rectangular pair. Versace has hit the mark here! The tortoiseshell is so light and effortlessly chic!

Next up, looking very stylish on Elaine Fang, is a great look for summer. So light, with a retro feel these are great for guys and gals who live for summer!

Here’s a beautiful mum we met yesterday at Robina who had previously had trouble finding glasses, just like me, for her round face. The OPSM stylists had her in this pair of Versace’s quick smart! Doesn’t she look amazing!

Not only did the lucky locals impress me with their posing abilities, the OPSM team blew me away with their styling talent and sunny, summer attitudes! These guys are too nice. So a big thank you to the amazing crew for showing me around and letting me meet the ever stylish locals!

Finders Keepers Wrap-Up

Thanks to everyone who came by the Seam Magazine & Alice Nightingale stall at the Finders Keepers markets over the weekend, we had a great time!

Our newest edition to the accessories lineup is a range of hand printed teardrop bow ties, purses, wallets and totes - here's a peek a the lead up to their release over the weekend!

The whole process of creating these bags from scratch was so rewarding,

so much so that these prints may just feature on clothing some time soon!

Splendour Wrap-Up

Splendour in the Grass 2011 is done and well and truly dusted!

Our little team arrived at Woodfordia on Tuesday to begin a massive week of dancing, dress ups and music (all from our mushroom tent!) Here's a glimpse of our festival stall and the amazing view of the GW Mcclennan Stage!

Camel Capes and Pin Tucks.

The lead up to winter this year has come with a lot of requests for capes in camel or beige. Up until now it's been impossible to find the colour in Queensland, but here we are! I came across the perfect colour this week.

I had initially planned to make capes with slits and pockets at the front (I've had plenty of requests for pockets too) but the end result of this cape has me completely in love with a simple Camel Cape!

Now to the next sneak peek into all new stock from this week - The Little Sparrow Dress!

This beautiful fabric is a 100% cotton delight.

The dress is carefully pin tucked and tailored, I can't wait to show it off. It should be available online next Sunday, so keep an eye out! Here it is -

Crochet and Cameras.

Mid-May finds me busy as ever with new stock and rather happy to finally show it off! A big thankyou to my lovely model Steph, who will be popping by every few weeks to help me update http://www.etsy.com/shop/alicenightingale

Plenty of crocheting has been going on in the Alice Nightingale studio lately, so I'll be showing that off today too. I've found crochet is the perfect way to feel as though you're still working when you're so sick you can't sew!

Here are my favourites from this weeks Etsy update!

This fabric is so lovely, it's my pick for winter this year. The colour is 'Flesh' but looks light a beige-peach and had a slight sheen to it; so lovely.

Here are my lovely little hand made collars. Each one is individual and made from super soft crochet wool. They're very versatile and so light you forget you're wearing them!

I'm in love with this tapestry fabric. It stays in shape so easily, so these pleats stay perfect!

On a side note, my wonderful little Ricoh 520m died last week. The poor thing couldn't handle the workload anymore. Here are some photos taken in the summer on it..
